Healed, Whole, and Wonderfully Beautiful

The women of TRW gathered for brunch at a beautiful restaurant to discuss beauty, the definition of beauty, how we define beauty and how God defines beauty.

As women, we have all had a season where we picked ourselves apart or didn’t think we were/are beautiful. Some of us may still be in that season or at least have moments of not feeling “beautiful.”

During this gathering our minds were renewed concerning the topic of beauty. We took a deeper look into scripture describing our beauty to God.

In Psalms 139:14, God says, You Are Wonderfully Made

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Interpretation: God created You and He does not make subpar things. God is good at His craft, and He crafted you, meaning that you are good. You are not subpar. He designed, formed, and created you. You are good.  God sees you as a masterpiece; and when you look in the mirror, He wants you to “know that full well.”

 Song of Solomon 4:7 (NIV)

“You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.”

Description: This verse expresses a lover’s admiration, often seen as symbolic of Christ’s love for the Church or for you, specifically.

Interpretation: In God’s eyes, we are flawless and beautiful, beloved by Him with a perfect love that sees beyond our imperfections.

We also discussed the comparison between pretty and beautiful

Pretty: Generally refers to something that is attractive in a delicate or charming way. It often implies a sense of youthfulness and lightness.

Beautiful: Refers to a deeper, more profound level of attractiveness that can evoke admiration and appreciation. It encompasses a broader range of qualities and can be associated with elegance, grace, and depth.

While "pretty" and "beautiful" can be used interchangeably, "beautiful" generally indicates a higher level of attractiveness and often implies a more profound sense of beauty, encompassing not just physical appearance but also inner qualities and depth. "Pretty," on the other hand, suggests a more superficial or delicate attractiveness.

All of the women competing for the King in Esther in the Bible were pretty, but it was the beauty of Esther’s heart and soul that eventually won the king’s heart.

Tips to renew our minds were discussed. Our inner beauty concerning our hormonal health was discussed by Jackie, women's health provider. Chimelia, the owner of Cleansed, a natural skincare line discussed skin care and skin health. We also learned quick and easy tips on applying makeup from Mariah, a prominent makeup artist.

By the end of this gathering women were weeping, women were seeing beauty in themselves that they didn't realize before, and women were helping other women see the beauty of their heart. WE left this gathering renewed in our minds and ready to make our physical and spiritual health a priority.
